What am I doing wrong?

I’ve started playing with the music library. A few of the albums loaded, I noticed that the track names don’t match the filenames or the mp3 tag info, so I assume it’s getting this from the internet metadata.

Anyway, I go in and “Fix match” and select a different album, but it’s not changing the names of the tracks to match what I saw in the album I selected…the tracks stay the way they were.

What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Have you read the naming section related to music files?

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/sections/200058637-Naming-and-Organizing-Music-Media

If you get it names right in the first place it should just populate the db properly.

Alternatively, if your embedded ID3 tags are in good shape (or if you plan to get them in shape), make sure you have Plex correctly configured to prefer embedded tags.

Thanks for the responses.

Just to clarify, this is what I mean. When I “Fix the match” it shows me this, a 100% match…

but after I select it, I see

That name is not in the filename (I’d be happy with the filename)

and the name I see there is not in the ID3 either, so I have no idea where it’s getting it.

I don’t suppose there is a way to “prefer embedded data” for a single CD or anything is there? Most of the library is ok. If need to I can edit these all manually, just hoping there was a simple solution I was missing.

Thanks
