I don’t have an Xbox to verify this – according to the related support article you should already be able to use the grid guide.
There’s an existing feature suggestion to enable channel up/down (+/-) buttons. I suggest you vote in that existing thread for that particular part of your suggestion in order to avoid distracting votes/attention – therefore removing that part in the OP above.
