Preview: Plex Media Server for Windows 64-bit version

I did, and I think that broke it completely. First TV scan after that took over 24 hours.

So far so good for me. I’ve had no issues at all and it seems faster than ever.

I’ve added series, movies, refreshed metadata, scanned my huge libraries, transcoded, and more and it all worked as expected and fast. Thanks for 64bit support!

Did you also change where the library points to? Leaving the library pointing to the root won’t improve anything.

I did, yes. FWIW I did the same thing for my movie library and it’s fine. But now every item in my TV library says unavailable even though when I click on info it has the right file path.

Gonna try another scan after optimizing database, maybe all the new file locations jacked something up.

@NattieBoompo It’s possible you moved the media and then changed the location in the library settings and that is what caused the library to say it’s unavailable. This is why when I have such issues with my libraries I create new ones. This then eliminates any glitches in the library.

Does creating a new library make you lose metadata (like manually changed posters, etc)?

@NattieBoompo It’s a total re-set, which means it get’s rid of anything that maybe glitching.

Thanks. I’ll try that as a last ditch if this scan doesn’t fix anything. I’d rather not have to re do all my posters and collections and everything but it’s better than not having a library at all lol.

Sounds like your library is not pointing to the correct location. Can you screenshot the library folder and one of the paths for a episode?

Regarding AV exclusions, I personally always exclude the main media file extensions as well…

*.MP3, *.MP4, *.AVI, *.MKV… etc

I did an optimize and another scan. The scan is taking forever, but it is slowly making everything available again one by one. Library and Files are all now in F:\TV Shows instead of just F:\

Library:

Unavailable Episode:

Available Episode:

Ok send me your logs. Something seems off.

Ok, I’ll send em when the current scan is over (which may be tomorrow lol)

Or would grabbing them mid-scan work?

I’ll take the logs now if you can. This way I can see while it’s working.

Here you go:

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-08-02_16-30-46.zip (6.0 MB)

Also to be clear, I rolled back to 32 bit this morning after the last scan completed. I also think I might know what the issue was with the extra long one after changing my library folder, so if this one completes I might try 64 bit again.

When I first changed my TV library folder, I think it just added the F/TV Shows without removing the F:/ root, so for that first scan I think I had two TV library folders, F:/ and F:/TV Shows. I thought I took it off but was getting a ā€œyour changes cannot be savedā€ message or something like that.

Oh, this was on 32-bit… I’m going to check your logs but I’ll likely move this discussion out to it’s own thread unless I find something due to being on64-bit before. I only want issues with the 64-bit version in this thread.
