But opening collections on Plex Web I get the collections trying the same on your IOS App I get a black screen and a timeout?
I have plenty of server resources, I have even tested my DB for bloat and errors.
128G Ram and allt running locally on NVME drives and Intel i9 - Again this all worked perfectly before the many changes new IOS app design and Server updates.
Old server setup worked fast and reliable on both cases.
Opening a new movie for details is also very slow (Mostly on the IOS apps)
Fireside Note: We would be happy to provide support here but will not address this item as part of the Fireside AMA. Suggested forum area for assistance: Plex Players or Plex Media Server. Also - if this gets posted in one of those areas please also include the server version in the post. The “server version webpage” version mentioned here is a web client version. The actual server version is under your server name → Settings → General
first of all, compliments on Plex – the program is excellent, and we are especially happy that the main interface is already available in Slovenian.
However, I would really like to highlight one important point: in our group there are also older people who do not understand English. For them it is very difficult to use the Library, because they cannot read the descriptions, categories, or other information. In practice, this means they cannot fully enjoy Plex, even though they would like to.
It feels strange that Slovenian is missing in the Library settings, especially since all major metadata providers such as IMDb, TMDb, Trakt etc. already support Slovenian.
About a year ago we already asked:
“Could you please add Slovenian (Slovenščina) as an option in the Library language settings?”
We would kindly ask you to consider this request again. Adding Slovenian would make Plex much more accessible and user-friendly for all of us.
Thank you in advance for your support, and once again: Plex is a fantastic product, we just hope it can become even better with this improvement.
Best regards,
Fireside Note: Thank you for the post! This request has been passed along to the appropriate team to consider, but not current work is happening right now around providing support for additional languages.
can you please add an easy backup solution for db? I had to reinstall my computer and lost all my database including every star rating I did on thousands music songs and all my dynamic playlists… it was a NIGHTMARE for me and I still have not recovered from the loss
edit: no data is “lost”, plex simply threatened the new hardware as a new computer (despite attaching the same disk, i’m using linux) and prompted me to install a new server from scratch instead of finding my media AND STAR RATINGS AND SMART PLAYLISTS … this was the worst loss
will we ever get the ability to friendly name users in our list? Will Plex Dash ever get some widget love and app updates to make it a usuable alternative to Tautulli?
Fireside Note - we don’t have anything to comment on here at the moment. There isn’t work in either of these areas happening right now
The last fireside chat discussed adding options for metadata such as NFO files and an API. Is there any update on that topic?
Fireside Awesome Question! Note - this is either a dupe or very similar to the question posed here. Hopefully that answer covers what is being asked here, if not, feel free to ask another question!
Can you give information on how bugs, issues can be reported in a way that plex employees are aware and a response can be received? Including also like others suggested a place to see issues plex is aware of and are working on
Also. How do you plan in general to continue communicating with the community about bugs, issues? and how fo you balance between new features and fixing bugs in the future? Theres always something new introduced while many things i feel have never been completed on some Platforms vs others (eg. Season/episode Extras, vobsob pgs subtitles.
I wished the existing features would first at least work reliably on all platforms before some new features X are introduced that also only works on certain platform like commons rating only on mobile, plexamp.
Ive reported several bugs but never received an answer from an employee and it was never fixed in years. Like vobsob/pgs works on all platforms except Playstation Plex player. Vtt Subtitles break if theres a line with some spaces (error not vtt syntax compliant but this empty line woth spaces could just be ignored instead)
Fireside Note: This appears to be a duplicate or very similar to this question. Please see that answer and thank you for joining us at the Fireside
When I use the shuffle feature, Plex seems to prefer picking some content repeatedly. This isn’t a problem that is unique to plex, but it can be frustrating to constantly have the same media served up when shuffling.
Is this something that can be fixed this year? Maybe generating a new seed each time shuffle is selected? Better random algorithms? Anything would be helpful.

It sounds that I am the exception, but I actually have liked the new refresh and Plex preview. Roku app looks fine to me. However, these are some things that I would love to see addressed and considered for future:
1.) When will Fire TV Plex Preview be available?
2.) I want to see incorporation of access to Apple and Fandango At Home purchases in their libraries. Including ability to streamlink files (which is being used by Channels and Infuse apps)
3.) Bring back podcasts and create audiobook support.
4.) TV Show modification in library for “Season 0/Specials” Have plex bring in files that do not require S00E01 identification. For example, if you have a file named Deleted Scenes or different featurettes that are not associated to a particular season, then Plex just brings in the name of the file.
5.) Ability to record or add Plex TV Shows into your library.
Fireside Note - please check out the answers for some of these topics:
For playlists, for me it’s “songs I want to hear at the gym”. I don’t care about the order as I play it on shuffle anyways. I want to be able to sort by artist, or title so that I don’t add the same ones again. The lack of sort has been doubly painful as I’ve had to recreate my multi-hundred song playlist multiple times lately as the songs in the playlist were wiped out when access to the NAS failed and nightly cleanup zero’d out the playlist.
Personally I’ve never thought of a playlist as play song 1 first, then 2, etc. It was always a bunch of things that I liked and wanted to hear exclusively.
Not exactly. I know you can do TV specials/extra on an episode or season level. I also know you can label it to show up in those areas. However, if you are trying to add an extra specific to the show (again not on a season or episode level, but for the series). If you add it to Season 0 folder, you have to have the file structure of S00.E01, S00.E02 and then you have to edit the metadata within Plex to show the file name. What I am meaning is can the Season 0 folder allow flexibility to just bring in the file name as it is named-Gag Reel instead of S00E01-Gag Reel.
If those aren’t specials (following the official naming schema), you can already add those as local extras to your show (same as for seasons or episodes).
Just want to reiterate: the reason you can’t sort a playlist is because a playlist definition is the order of the tracks. That’s it.
I don’t have Spotify, but a little research tells me that you add tracks to a playlist manually. You can’t even benefit from filtering or sorting rules to more quickly and easily fashion a robust playlist. This seems far behind Plex in usability, where I can do any search and filtering I can imagine, multiple times, to construct a playlist just the way I want.
It’s apples and oranges anyway. Spotify is working from an infinity collection and therefore doesn’t allow you to view sort filter their library in the way Plex does with the known-limited library we humans possess.
Anyways, I guess the point is that there are technical reasons behind the behavior of both apps, and requesting one look or behave like the other won’t get far because of their different natures. I agree that Plex could add some more playlist management features, but the sorting and filtering you mentioned is already present.
I appreciate that it isn’t under Season 00/Specials, but my gag reels just show up as gag reels under extras, or rather they would in this instance if I hadn’t specified the relevant season. I don’t expect it to be to everyone’s tastes but I actually prefer it to them being in a Season 0 folder.
Echoing this. It’s like the idea of trying to add a lot of streaming services has overridden the core of what Plex is and why we pay for it. The result has been both bad user experience and boy has it become unstable as hell. What are you doing to clean this up guys, it’s been months of this craziness.
A huge thank you for hosting this event and giving us the chance to ask you questions directly. I really appreciate the transparency!
I want to touch on the recent redesign. While I’ve read a lot of the community feedback and understand the frustrations some users had at launch, my own experience has been relatively smooth. Aside from a few minor hiccups, I’ve actually grown to like the new direction.
Watching the bug-fix updates roll out got me wondering about what goes on behind the scenes, which brings me to my main question: Could you shed some light on your process for prioritizing bug fixes?
The reason I ask is that I’m hoping to give some attention to a specific, reproducible app-crashing bug I reported three months ago. All the details and steps to reproduce it are in the original thread here: Videos with EAC3 7.1 audio files not playing in new iOS App
Thanks again for everything you do. Keep up the great work!

I have created a personal DizqueTV channel. I would love to use the Tuner to go direct to DizqueTV, but I would like to use EPG for my OTA and cable guides. Is there any thought to having the ability to use both EPG and XMLTV. And if this already exists, can I get instructions on how to utilize both?
Looking for Plexamp to have the ability to work without an internet connection with all the radios and shuffles and mix building and everything it normally does, but to only use the files that I have downloaded to the phone. Is this possible? Can we have some better local file features on Plexamp?
Use case. Work environment that does not allow for internet access or driving or travelling and hitting dead zones or no internet. If I download several playlists or several full albums for the trip, it would save me the headache of having to explain to my shotgun in the car that they can’t just go to the home screen and hit library radio like they normally do or see the home screen things and pick something from there. They have to go into the downloads section and endlessly scroll for the specific thing they want to listen to or a playlist.
An old phone with Plexamp on it and the ability to function like a internet connected Plexamp client but with just local files. Thats a pretty decent roll your own DAP right there. And saves a bit of ewaste.
