Just updated the PMS to the latest through the freenas plugins and re added my libraries. Due to ever changing roles of my machine I rarely use my FreeNAS box as a direct server, instead relying on PC/Nvidia shield to transcode and serve, but I was excited.
The problem arose when I added the movies section with the new Plex agent and the collections didn’t auto generate. I double checked the agent settings and also advanced setting from Library> edit. After I double checked everything (found nothing wrong) I followed it up with a refresh metadata which still didn’t produce any collections. Thought I’ll just try to make another test (and smaller) library of 1 of my collections using the movie, dB and lo behold the collections page was generated. I eventually added the entire movie folder to the new folder and deleted the old one.
Can someone else check to confirm if they are facing similar issues.
@plex team awesome job on the collection posters. Really wanted that for a long time.
If you had an existing library with existing collections then any new automatic collections won’t alter the existing collections with the same name.
If you delete a collection we’ll lock the Collection tag field on those items so that when a refresh happens we don’t just recreate it again so if you want it to regenerate for those items you need to unlock that field again. This is done by editing the movie item and going to the Tags section and clicking the lock icon next to the Collection entry and saving.
Thank you @drzoidberg33 for looking this topic up. It was a brand new from the scratch library made on 1.20.3252. The one I deleted was made just after the update with the new plex agent. When the collections didn’t populate, I deleted it and redid the library with tmdb agent. Maybe an anomaly. Maybe I missed something. Please see if you can recreate it, otherwise I’ll let this topic rest for now and maybe make a temp mini library with the plex new agent.
