Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I am completely new to plex and am not highly technical! I have just downloaded the server to my PC. I have also installed the app on my Samsung smart tv. I have installed some channels- both official one and ones i got from github including ICE films & Let me watch. The unofficial one can be seen when I open channels- but none are working. Most let me open and browse, but when I try and load something it says “this channel is not responding” The official ones- including Revision 3 and Vimeo I have installed and when I click browse it come up with the same message, but they also do show in my channel home screen when i exit installation. any pointers you can give to help me fix this would be great as i am stabbing in the dark a bit here!
When you are unable to even navigate through the listings/directories in a channel, it usually means that either your Plex Media Server has locked up and needs to be restarted or you do not have an Internet connection to your Plex Media Sever. Plex channels access online content, so you must have an Internet connection available for your Plex Media Server and Plex Player/device.
Unsupported channels (those you have installed from sources other than the Channel Directory) may be less stable, harder to maintain, require extensive instructions, have limitations for its use, and/or may even no longer be maintained or supported by a developer. So, you must use the support options provided by the developer of each individual unsupported channel you are having issues with. See How do I get support for unsupported channels?. The pinned topic shown at the top of the first page of the Channel section of the forum called SUPPORT: Find my Plug-In here for support provides a list of known support topics that developers of unsupported channels have created to provide support for users.
But channels you installed using the Channel directory should work as long as your region is set properly. When your region is properly set, channels that will not play in your region are only shown under the Foreign (region-restricted) section of your Channel Directory. If you are able to navigate all the directories of the channel, but having issues playing videos from channels in the Channel Directory, see the “Why do the videos for a channel or channels fail to play?” section of the Channel FAQ.
If the advice above does not help with channels from the Channel Directory, post a new topic in the Channel section of the forum and include as much detail about the issues and your setup as possible.
