Hi, I’m having problems with a specific episode of a TV show.
I’ve got two complete seasons of Hawaii Five-0 (the 2010 series) ripped, stored on a USB HDD connected to my router. I have two servers, which both read this drive for the TV library. One server is running on windows, the other is running on a Shield Android TV.
This problem only impacts the Shield Android TV server. Season 5, episode 23 does not show on this plex server.
I have the file, a TBN, and an NFO file which I’ve created. As mentioned, no issues on the PC server.
All the 3 relevant files are named as:
“Hawaii Five-0 - 5x23 - Mo’o 'olelo Pu”
The NFO correctly identified the unique ID from theTVDB.
I have rescanned, and even done the “plex dance”, moving out the files, rescanning, emptying trash, clearing bundles, moving the files back and rescanning again.
Nothing…
If I had to guess, if assume it were to do wth the name of the files, there are two apostrophes, which is quite unusual. (But this isn’t unique, and I don’t have that problem with S05E01 for example.)
Based on the information provided, I would say you’re probably right. Naming can be a fickle thing.
Try changing the name to something like “Hawaii Five-0 S05E23”. Drop the episode name, and put in the Season and Episode marker. Plex should still recognize the episode, without the need for the episode name.
Also, you could try using an app to rename the files correctly, my favorite is Tiny Media Manager, but there are others like The Renamer as well.

PPS - Tiny Media Manager looks good, does it work with making plex NFOs? It only mentions Kodi, XBMC and MediaPortal.
I hope that since plex is a spin off of XBMC, it’s compatible too?
Tiny Media Manager is great, and the XBMC/Kodi NFO’s work fine with Plex. Beware that it is based on Java, and if you add or remove large amounts of content from your library it can be very slow to update.
Well, these are the English language episode names I’m using. (They just happen to be Hawaiian!)
Given that all other similarly named titles for the rest of the two seasons worked, I can’t think it could be anything else apart from an odd problem with the apostrophes, possibly related to regex or similar.
