Problem with core components of Plex after clean install on Synology NAS

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.16.6.1559-a71394a45-x86_64
Player Version#: n.a. web-interface
Dear Plex Team,
after a clean install on my Synology NAS I could not finish the basic server configuration due to an error message in the core components of the Plex Server. I already configured the server on a WD Wireless SSD NAS without problems so I was pretty surprised that I run in such problems. (i bought a lifetime plex passport !)

Please find attached the error logs.

Regards Martin

Unfortunately build 1559 for Synology is defective. Please wait for an update or go back to version 1.16.5.1554 (the current ‘public’ build).

OK but where do I get that ? I downloaded it from the official plex.tv download page …

Kind regards Martin

Just disable ‘Plex Pass downloads’ on that same page.

… rollback to the suggested version … sever reboot … same error message during basic server setup …

P.S.: I can click i.e. Mediathek but cannot save the changes I made - user rights problem ?

Kind regards Martin

Have you checked Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users

OK i went through this tutorial and did it for one folder … tried to set up a mediathek … still the same error … now i went to the tab server settings: error: server settings not available … this error message appears with almost all menu entries (i.e. transcoder, network, general, …) for me it looks like a bit that plex can’t acess/modify his own config file …

Kind regards Martin

@trumpy81 do you have any idea?

… I send you my log files what do they say … ?

There are no logs in your first post above.

Plex Error Logs.zip (119.9 KB)

ok again …

The freshest log file in there is from the defective version v1.16.6.1559 and was also created before doing the ‘access permissions’ fix.
Which you should finish for all folders, by the way.

YES thats correct - sorry my fault - I send the wrong ZIPPlex Logs.zip (198.7 KB)

PMS 1.16.6.1592 is now available with a fix for this issue:
