When searching for this problem on the forums I’ve notice that in about 2017/2018 there was a problem with the autoplay feature playing the next episode in the background even though autoplay was disabled on the device. I’m having this same problem lately. The episode ends, the “play next” screen pops up and I can hear the audio of the next episode playing and see a little of the video along the edge of the screen.
Also, the episode listed on the “play next” screen doesn’t always line up with the episode that ends up playing.
Happens intermittently with the Android TV app too. Audio for the next show is played on post-play screen, even tho auto-play is disabled. It actually started happening 2 or 3 versions ago, but reporting another bug in the android app would just add one more to the list, so I never bothered.
As far as I know, the only way out is to force close the app, which may or may not end up with a “now playing on Plex” notification on the home screen of the Android TV.
That item will likely show up in your continue watching hub in Plex as well. showing it played however long it took you to make it quit.
