Bug: Plex autoplays next episode in background when autoplay is disabled

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: 7.27.0.15018

with “Play Up Next videos automatically” set to “Off” you are thrown to the screen showing the next episode with a synopsis of it after an episode ends and then you begin hearing audio behind it. If you back out to the home screen you will see the “up next” video showing in the “continue watching” bucket. This just happened recently and is occurring on both of my fire sticks.

Clearing cache/data and restarting the firestick does not resolve the issue. Neither does uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

This is a Fire-TV thread. I don’t have a Fire-TV stick . My intent was to verify, at minimum, my player (shield) and the server. That part is working.

We need someone with a Fire-TV to verify.

I just replied to my thread but I did setup my Firestick and was not able to reproduce the issue that @dpeeps74 is experiencing.

@dpeeps74 can you give more information on the issue you are experiencing? Are you still experiencing this? Is it sporadic or something that happens everytime?

I checked again based on the other followup i saw. It definitely only happens with the new player. If i disable it I cannot recreate it. i tried checking a couple of other things…1) I found it only happens with one series I have and 2) it does not appear to be related to codec. It’s almost like autoplay somehow got enabled for just that series. but again, if i disable the new player it doesn’t occur at all.
