Can confirm this is also an issue in latest beta affecting Shield TV’s. I verified autoplay is set as well. Please advise. Thank you. :slight_smile:

I can confirm this is also happening on FireTV with the latest android beta.

Can confirm on Google Chromecast with Google TV. Running latest beta and it just hangs on the Play Next screen.

Getting all kinds of weird issues now after latest update. Just for reference have the latest server installed.

As title says Plex will not auto play the next episode on any Android based device, works on the Vizio TV Plex app. Starting shuffle sometimes brings up a black screen and never starts playing, have to back out and hit play/shuffle again. Sometimes once an episode starts it begins with the audio sound of skipping forward and won’t stop till I actually hit skip forward or back or advance the next episode manually. Really annoying.

Lastly sometimes I go to skip an episode or bring up the menu and suddenly all controls stop working, have to back out of the app and restart.

I’ve had two issues on Android TV after latest update:

  1. Autoplay sometimes doesn’t work at all

  2. Autoplay sometimes starts audio for next film but the screen is black, no video. If I back out and come back, it works fine.

I am on the latest beta version for Android tv and today’s update still not working for playing next. Seems like they forgot to add a automatic play next functionality.

So this issue has been carried over from the last beta to release. How did this get missed when people are reporting it? At least an acknowledgement of “working on it” would be ideal right?

For me, auto play is such a necessity for continuous playback. Hope the team identified the issue and is fixed in the next beta.

Reporting this broke on my Chromecast when Plex updated to 9.19.0.177. Disappointing.

Same issue here on Sony TV. Just hangs on ‘Up Next’ without a timer or leading in to next episode.

So annoying having to manually skip childrens TV episodes every 7mins! I’ll have to do some real parenting now!!

Any ETA on fix?

Same here - no autoplay even though app setting is to ON.

Hey there fellow Bluey parent. Continuous play of cartoons is a life saver and gives me the chance to actually do something for myself. The broken auto play feature is really messing with my sanity.

Issue is occurring on multiple Nvidia Shields since the last update.

Same issue
Player: Shield Pro 2017, most recent stable release for player.

Auto play does not occur, end of episode kicks back to main series page and just sits on next episode but does not play.

Plex Server: 1.31.0.6654
Auto play was working on this Plex server version prior to a client release on the Shield Pro.

I am experiencing the same thing. Beta user, 2019 Nvidia Shield TV Pro.
