Since the new update, Plex does not automatically merge and mark duplicates. It simply creates a new entry with a new date of addition
There is no way to force it mark the latest entry using “fix Match”. The only way to merge the two entries seems to be “Fix Match” the earliest entry.
That will give the latest date of addition to the all, which messes up the sorting by filters “by Date Added”.
note that the problem seems to affect the films that where added before the update and duplicating after the update,
the films that were first added afterthe update are unaffected
Did you follow the request to convert/upgrade your libraries?
If you don’t let the server refresh metadata afterwards, the conversion is not complete.
Which then has the effect, that old items are still using an old agent, while newly added files are being matched to the new agent.
And because of this, Plex cannot recognize the two versions as being the same movie.
So, start refresh metadata of the whole library and let it finish.
Yeah the duplication need to be fix, at the very least handle better.
