Hi, I am fairly new to Plex. I have read as much as possible to try and resolve my issue alone but have not had luck. My problem is that when i use plex on my samsung smart tv in my bedroom on a wifi connection it constantly buffers. Same if i try to watch on my iphone. I get the message your server is not powerful enough. This shouldn’t be the case as my server has a xeon e3 1245 v5 3.5GHz and 32MB DDR3 RAM. What could the problems be here? I know you are going to ask me for logs. What is the standard operating procedure on collecting sufficient logs and posting them? Thanks in advanced.
I should also mention that when i watch use plex on my HTPC in my living room with a wired connection, no problems at all.
sounds like wifi speeds are to blame
Well I’m getting 36Mbps down and 3Mbps up on my phone which is running on wifi. I did the test in my bedroom to see if there were any possible problems with signal loss. I can sit 5 ft from my wireless router on my phone and still receive the buffering issue while watching movies on my plex app.
@Bwhenkaline
ever since I updated to latest version and only seems to buffering on larger videos over 2gb, got 200mb broadband so not just you. all devices wired
It’s strange. All my blu rays play fine for first 3 minutes then it happens like clock work
