Problems with Unitymedia and Dual Stack / DS Lite

Hi,

i have a Problem with my Connection from outside to my NAS Server which is running the PLEX app.

I have a WD my cloud mirror which is connected to a FIP box, on this FIP box is running a portmapper.

I use the easy2connect system from feste-ip.net. So the Access from the web to my NAS with my portmapper works lovely. Just in my Plex app i get the message:

“The server “WDMyCloudMirror” is unavailable Plex will automatically try to reconnect to this Server”

It seems that Plex give out the Public IPv4 address from unitymedia out to the Plex Servers, but this IPv4 is not an real address from unitymedia. I have tick the IPv6 function in Plex but the my cloud mirror doesnt support IPv6. Thats the reason why i use the FIP box to translate IPv4 to IPv6.

so is there any way to get Plex to work with a dual stack Connection ?

Best regards

HI there,

not a real solution, but several friends also had this problems on Unitymedia. They have called their support Hotline and asked for a real IPv4 adress. Yeah, they dont have much of them, but some of my friends were lucky and got a real IPv4 and were removed from their DualStack. Lite.

Round about 5 Years ago, ia also got a real IPv4 adress from Unitymedia, today im with NetCologne.

Kind regards

I have called with Unitymedia and the result is nothing :frowning: i can upgrade my package too buisness with a new contract of +2 years. Thats no solution for me…

My next provider will be Netcologne too !

But for now i need a solution to get my NAS available from outside.
I buyed the FIP box in the hope the ipv6 tunnel is my solution but Plex himself cant connect from outside.

The IPv4 address you see in the Picture is not a “real” address from unitymedia just a shared one…

With the portmapper from feste-ip.net i got a real IPv4 address like plexserver.feste-ip.net:45633

There must be a way to tell Plex to use this mapped address given by feste-ip.net

I hope one of the devs can tell me more…

Thanks in advance
