Apologies for any inaccuracies above. Relatively new install (and user), it has never worked for my setup. If I go to the settings > Live TV& DVR the program data updates and my scheduled recordings work as expected but after a couple of weeks when the guide data runs out the recording stop. If I manually update the data starts working again.
I have the box checked DVR Settings> Perform refresh of program guide data.
I have Plex pass as well.
Not sure how to check or validate the logs or even where to determine why the schedule is not working. Thank you for any guidance.
I disabled all the sleep settings in the Synology. The Plex schedule tasks are also enabled. I waited and as of this AM I have zero guide data. Is there a log I can review before/after manually refreshing the guide data?
This has been happening to me for months. Same thing, schedule tasks are running fine. Guide data just does not update. Happy to upload logs. I tried poking through the logs myself, but I don’t know which one this would be in? Does anyone know which log specifically to look at and upload?
Drag and drop the zip file that is downloaded to your browser into a reply here. “Plex Media Server.log” is the main one but all of them should be uploaded. Look for when your scheduled tasks run.
If your DNS is having issues, using Pi-Hole or have an ISP that has silently started blocking Plex addresses these will show up as HTTP errors.
Sure, attached. It’s supposed to update at 3am. It should have updated 15th at 3am or the 16th (today) at 3 am. Updating by hand works fine. I see stuff about “EPG” which I’m assuming is electronic programing guide, but I’m not spotting an issue. Plex Media Server Logs_2023-09-16_08-28-34.zip (4.6 MB)
Is this a docker or native install ? Some network issues to look at later but for now:
Goto the DVR settings, scroll to the bottom and make sure the setting to refresh Program Guide Data is checked.
If it is checked, uncheck save - then go back in and check then save. If it doesn’t auto refresh during the next scheduled task window upload another set of logs.
Basically should see something like this in your “Plex Media Server.log” file at the start of the scheduled tasks:
DEBUG - Butler: we're in the window, starting.
DEBUG - Butler: Waking up!
DEBUG - Butler: Scheduling randomized task 'RefreshEpgGuides' in 76 minutes.
DEBUG - Butler: Scheduling randomized task 'RefreshPeriodicMetadata' in 24 minutes.
It’s on a Synology NAS, so my understanding is it’s in Docker container. (And if you’re curious, I use the latest version from Plex, not the one from Synology).
The box is checked, I’ve tried the uncheck and recheck already, but I’m happy to try again and get back to you.
