I love the rating feature but I feel it is underused and often forgotten, even by myself!
I’d love to have an option that could be enabled on a per library basis to prompt a user to rate the content they just played once play has completed.
I came here looking for this same feature. It would be great to have this. Even better than just the rating, would be to pop up the edit episode window so you could also edit the summary, tags, and other details while it is still fresh in your memory.
This would absolutely be a good thing, but I don’t see Plex doing this, sadly.

An (optional) rating prompt after each episode or movie playback would be a nice feature. I stream my media from my playstation and love to rate it afterwards. At the time I have to get my phone, open the Trakt app, find the episode / movie and rate it. This is pretty fiddly

Very true. After all these years they can’t even get ratings unified across various clients.
Mobile Android or iOS you can happily use a 1/10 scale thanks to half star ratings.
Beyond those mobile apps no other client (that I have used) will even recognise those half star ratings.
Set a rating of 3.5 stars for multiple movies/ shows and marvel that in any other client 3.5 stars is equivalent of 3 or 4 and yeah if it’s a 3 or 4 seems to depend on some unknown factor.
Perhaps day of the week or is it raining today?
(Don’t even get me started on the lack of Trakt natively.)
Sadly it’s a balancing act. All the other server options like Jellyfin and Emby, although flawless with Trakt integration, they suck hard at so many other things.
I personally found my sweet spot. PMS is purely for mobile viewing when out and about.
As a home based direct play client then tvOS and Infuse just works for Trakt or even just half star ratings within Plex. It offers the option to rate on the episode/movie screen. (A request for a rating prompt is pending.)
Either way using a “proper” home based direct play client that offers the ability for “Half Star” ratings and the fact that the Plex mobile apps recognise/can set them. Is a huge win. It’s sad that I had to become an “Apple fan boy” to compensate for the last last missing piece in Plex.
I live in hope that one day someone somewhere in the higher echelons of Plex cares about ratings. If they have ever heard of Trakt… well that would be a double bonus.
