Provide access to previous PMS Versions

Not everyone remembers to keep the old downloads of PMS and sometimes the new versions have issues and people need to revert back to older versions.

There is currently no way to download these previous versions.

Please can Plex provide access to previous versions of PMS

That be nice.
Heck, you can download previous versions of others right off these forums.
I can still download Plex for Android v3.0.0.0 APK file dated May 26, 2013.

In light of recent versions which seem to be a disaster for many people, this would be a great idea.

Absolutely reasonable request, and far more than appropriate. Users should not be required to wait for fixes when major functionality is lost with some updates.

PLEX, provide access to a reasonable history base for your media server on all platforms, PLEASE! Years ago I was a software developer. You would think I would have known better than to not keep my own backup, but it happens. It should be your responsibility PLEX to provide a backup when your solutions don’t work and prior versions do. It’s just doing right for your user base. It’s that simple.

Do what I do.

When there’s a new Plex Media Server notification DO NOT click the update button. Go to plex.tv and download the installer. Then archive that installer after you use it. I’ve got Mac installers going back to .9

Yep. That’s what I learned for sure. ā€œfool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on meā€¦ā€

Nobody wants to spend hours trying to find and download previous package version to fix issues, introduced with newer PMS versions, so please, give us any possibility to revert to previous versions to be able to watch movies, not _ stuttering_ (I feel really frustrated with situation, describes in this post Plex App LG WebOS keeps buffering every second after fast-forward and resume).

The recent issues with hardware transcoding killing the server is a great example of how sorely needed this feature is.

We should have easy access to previous versions of PMS, PMP, etc.

Come on Plex! This is absolutely needed!

In windows I know they are saved… you can reinstall them.

I usually just keep the last 5 or 6… where I find them;
C:\Users\plex\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Updates

I’m on QNAP, and I’m not looking for versions that I’ve already installed. I’m looking for versions I’ve never installed.

Hello, I have version PlexMediaServer_1.13.9.5456-ecd600442_x86, which I can share. Is this the latest for us running old QNAPs? Does anyone have a more recent version?

Here are some links

Me too! I need Plex for QNAP stuck on 4.2.6.
Just reinstalled my old but almost never used TS-459U and cannot get Plex working.
Plex version 1.9.6 from QNAP store isn’t working showing ā€œAn error occurredā€.

P.S. I’m gold plexpass owner.

It seems QNAP has the latest 32 bit version (1.9.6.4429) available in the QNAP app store.

ah well, so it seems this request will never happen

If this is the case, this is why the feature requests are pretty pointless.

If there is no possibility of it being implemented we should be informed and the request closed to free up our ā€˜currently wasted’ votes
