I left the ps4 way back after sony did something to the html5 video player or whatever they did to screw up the browser, during that time I was mostly happy with wdtv and then minix. However, I had to try the ps4 plex app. I like it, but when I play a lower definition, like dvd, video, I have a vertical line on the right side of the image from top to bottom of the screen. The line usually lines up with the right side of the image. So, when the screen is black like say during the beginning of aliens during the intro, I have a line top to bottom. when the screen is active, with movie images, I see the line above and below the image along the right side of the movie.
Another thread is open regrading the aspect ratio issues that kind of play into this, but I have yet to find someone voicing a similar problem.
Does anyone have an idea what this line is about, the cause and hopefully a fix? I do not have this line with videos that fill the screen.
NOTE: From the ps4 dump I moved on to wdtv and then minix for the android options. With minix I use the xbmc addon for plex and I do not have this problem. Mentioned to eliminate the TV.
It would be very nice to have one of the plex gurus let us know what is going on with the aspect ratio issue and this app. Is it a sony problem?

Hi raftermaniac. We've been waiting on a Sony fix for the aspect ratio issue. We're fed up waiting and are planning to find the magical incantation to make anamorphic videos work correctly.
The "white line" issue is a new one. If you have time trying to recreate the problem using a short clip of the whole video would be super helpful. If the white line happens on the clip them please send it my way for sure. I can use this to dig into what's going on. Also, tip, avoid including the word "sample" in the short clip's file name. Our scanner ignore files with "sample" in their name which are <= 300MB.
I have the white line every single time also. It looks like the right side of the video isn't stretched to the margins of the tv screen. Kind of like underscan I think it used to be called.
Some pictures and / or short clips which recreate the problem would be super helpful. I'm having a hard time telling if this is our favorite anamorphic video problem or something new and unique.
Here I uploaded a short sample file that clearly has the white line if you play the file with your ps4 plex app. It is not seen on the web app or any other video player.
The white line is extremely annoying in dark movies.
I too have this issue and it only affects videos played on the PS4 app. The same video played on any other Plex app is fine. Please have a look and fix this.
