When I use the PS4 Plex app, some movies show black lines along the right and left side they don’t stretch out to the full screen width, but when I use the PlayStation media player with DLNA the movies does fill up the screens perfectly. All movies are 1080p. Also I had to change in the PS4 Plex app from level 4.0 to 4.1 because it kept transcoding the movies. Is this a problem with the app or the PS4?
I have this same issue… all of my mkv transcoded movies, whether they are 1080p or 480p play with black bars along the right and left side, but do not do this on the Plex App on the iPhone, the iPad, or a Samsung TV. This behavior is only on the PS4 App.
I have the same issue. I have both a PS4 and a FireTV stick connected to the same TV. With the Fire TV stick I can watch the movie in full screen. Through the PS4, the image does not stretch to use the full screen Did you find a solution?
I haven’t, but im using the PS4 media player with a custom DLNA profile and it seems to be working better than the Plex app. It would be great if the Plex app was fixed.
