PS4 BUFFERING, STILL.

For the first time, the last two movies I watched didn't suffer the buffering problem. Go figure.

Mine is also no longer buffering :-)

I think the last PS4 update has fixed the issue hopefully 

I just tried plex on PS4 (usually use Roku) and have buffering issues. My videos are MKV/h264/dts usually around 8-10mbps 1080p.  Plex is set at 8mbps and my server is remote. CPU usage on my server is not that high so that's not the bottleneck. Constant buffering can't watch movies at all. I have some lower bitrate 720p movies which do play fine

I also often get the error "There was a problem playing this item. The video did not start playing in time" 

Same here… Keeps on buffering on PS4. Fixed connection, GB switch… Does not have the issue when using plex on Mac mini in same set-up. So network is OK…

I have the same problem but only by the end of a video. No matter the lenght of it, the last 10 minutes it's buffering all the time. I have to exit and re enter the video (movie, tv series, etc)

Any ideas?

Just coming by to say that I also have the same issue, even since the last ps4 update. Any solution since June?

Same problem. Mac Mini 2010 works perfect but PS4 at the same net has freezes

The last (major) PS4 update-- after .19-- really dragged it down badly for me. Rare buffering problems before…now it’s every 15-20 minutes, with multiple files. I’ll post some log files later this week.

There wasn’t any change to the fundamental playback code in our recent releases.

I think what’s happening is a recent PMS release changed the bandwidth reported in the streaming manifest. This could be causing the PS4 to buffer too little data.

I’m following up with our server engineers and hope to see a resolution soon!

Ah! That actually sounds very plausible, given the behavior I’m seeing. Hope issue is discovered and remediated!

For what it’s worth, the other thing I am occasionally seeing is that my PS4 just loses connection with the media server altogether, and the app has to be closed and re-opened. Not sure if this relates to the issue above.
