PS4 & Plex? How to stream?

Simple question: I want to stream my contents from PMS @ Synology DS1513+ directly to my PS4, is that possible without myPlex?

Thanks!

The PS4 doesn't do DLNA (yet).  I've been able to get to the plex.tv screen in the browser, but nothing after that works.  In short, I just don't think it's possible yet.

Why “The PS4 doesn’t do DLNA (yet)”?

Isn’t it a hardware thing? So the PS4 do have the hardware, but it isn’t being used by the firmware (yet)?

Playstations official stance:

Conclusion: Sony fu@$#d it all!

They dropped DLNA support so that you are trapped in their s##t service, Music & Video Unlimited and third-party services like Netflix and Amazon... I'll just use ATV + PlexConnect. PS4 just for gaming.

The PlayStation®4 does not support DLNA or media servers, which means it is not possible to view content from another device on your console. (Updated Statement: We appreciate your feedback and are exploring possibilities.)

Hope the "possibilities" they are talking about is fu#&@ng support DLNA...

I've been following since pre-launch (and am a fellow PS4 owner). They stated they wanted to focus on games and anything else was supplimental. The did take some heat for dropping DLNA, and have made a few comments about adding it back in a software update. (Although I think we won't be seeing that for some time, as their software update roadmap has more gaming focus items to be released yet.)

For me, it doesn't matter anymore - hahahaha!

Just installed PlexConnect on my Synology NAS and I can stream directly to my ATV3 (Stream to Plex iPhone and then AirPlay to ATV totally sucks!), everything is fine now. My PS4 for gaming and ATV for multimedia!

The good news is that it's firmware related, not hardware related, so maybe in the future they change their minds. Anyway this "wanted to focus on games and anything else was supplemental" is totally BS, so why they added Netflix, Hulu, Video & Music Unlimited, Crunchyroll, Amazon Video, and some others? Simple, because they generate revenue. With DLNA you download your stuff where you want (legal or illegal)...

Anyway, thanks for reply!
