PS4 Plex App Continues to crash after latest UI Update. Multiple logs sent back to PlayStation Support. Crashing Midway through content. Server up to date, playback. Settings changed, no alteration. Server not crashing to users on other Non PlayStation devices. What logs can I collect that would show the crash if any caused by the Plex App crashing that may be shown on the server logs. Thank you in advance.
sorry are you saying the server is crashing or the PS4 app?
Sorry, the PS4 app is crashing. My Server from my PC has no issues that I can tell. Was looking for a way to determine if when the ps4 closes the Plex App, if I could determine a cause from my server as to why the app was closing.
well PS4 logs are written to server logs but if you canāt launch the app you wonāt be able to turn them on. Assuming it is not an Out of Memory crash we should get them already. I know our PS4 team is aware of a crash on launch affecting some and are looking through those crash logs to try to figure it out.

I was able to export my logs on to my pc. Is there anything in particular I can extract that would be helpful?
I was having the same problem, crashing during play, but i noticed that it also crashes even when i just opened it and dont play any videos. So I removed all the online stuff in the menu, like tv shows, news, etc, and just kept all the local server stuff on my pc server. That seems to help, no crashes so far and i can at least fnish a whole movie.

Iāve attempted deleting and re-installing the Plex app on my PS4 Pro. It constantly crashes. Sometimes I get 20 minutes viewing. Other times I canāt even get 20 seconds of browsing my files before it crashes. Is there any update as to when a patch for the updated PS4 UI will be available?
Or are there some settings I can adjust (using iMAC server) that will get it to work?

My Plex app still constantly crashesā¦Itās not ideal butā¦if youād still like to watch your Plex library via your PS4, the Playstation Media Player app (free on the store) will detect your Plex network and plays the content. You just have to browse through the folders to find the show/movie you want to play. Itās not pretty but at least you get uninterrupted viewing. Unlike the current Plex app

I donāt believe Iāve ever been booted out of a video, but this crashing is definitely still an issue for me. Plex isnāt unusable yet, but it seems to be trying its hardest to get there.
We are hoping to get a release out soon to fix a number of the different crashes. I donāt have an exact date but we are trying to get it out this week.

I get two kinds of crashes currently that I did not with the old PS4 client. Note that I almost exclusively am streaming from a remote server over the internet.
The first is when the PS4 goes to sleep and comes back, if something was playing in Plex, it will play just a little bit (I assume whatever was in the buffer) and then immediately crashes. The PS4 sometimes even gets stuck gathering data for the error report and Iām forced to hard-reset the PS4.
The second happens for no obvious reason-- it just crashes randomly while Iām streaming video. It has happened roughly once a day, but today has happened four times.
There was an update 6 days ago that addressed some crashes. Plex for PlayStation 4
Can you enable logging in the PS4 app (which writes to server) so we can try to see what it was going on when it happens to you

I can confirm your first error, that the PS4 app crashes when resuming streams from the rest mode without any exclusions. Fortunately this is way less worse, than it was some weeks ago, so +1 for this

I thought Iād throw a bit into the discussion. I activated āLogging to serverā on my PS4 and a Warning I see quite frequently, when loading libraries on the dashboard is this one
[ui-ps4-ps4] [State] Unable to process all updates within budget; 29 update(s) remaining
Itās actually happening every time I switch to another library on the dashboard or within the library. I can provide you with the full logs if youād like to see them.
Figured this error might have something to do with the overallā¦, well, letās not say āclunkyā, but definitely slower perfomance as on a windows machine using plex web, for example. Tell me if I can be of any help for you

Iām still constantly getting this on my PS4 also. Just had it happen again, and came looking to see if there was an existing thread on it. Typically happens during playback for me. Only on occasion, will it crash on launch.
Is there any update as to when a fix will be in?
I too am getting the errors. it constantly crashes on my PS4. It doesnāt even let me play anything and it crashes
Nothing but constant errors. Came here looking for hope but apparently its just hot hot garbage.
