For the past couple months whenever I use the Plex app on my PS4 it will repeatedly crash with a CE-34878-0 error. I have un-installed and re-installed the app and even rebuilt the PS4 database but the crashes still happen. Plex will crash at any time from starting a show to right in the middle of a movie or TV episode. Its pretty much unusable at this point, is there anything I can do to stop this constant crashing?
Same here, have Plexpass but it’s virtually unusable, any fix in the pipeline or recommendation??
Me too, it’s very annoying
I have the same problem. It happened at random the last few months and then just in the last week it will crash at any given point… I was on it all day yesterday and I think it cashed about ~10-15 times, during movies, tv shows…
Hey, I just wanted to weigh in with the same problem.
The app worked well for most of last year but seems to be getting steadily worse as the weeks go by. It looks like there has only ever been one version released because version on my PS4 is 1.0.
Same issue.

This is true, however, when you open up the Plex app on PS4 and while it loads, look at the bottom right. It has a version number. The PS4 app updates itself in the app rather than updating the "global| app. Think of a bathtub, you can add/remove/change the toys, water color, bubbled, etc… but you don’t change the actual tub itself. That’s basically what plex is doing.

Haha that’s okay
My version of the PS4 Plex client is 2.5.7 as shown in the bottom right corner on launch.
My Plex client crashes on video exit during play back with the same message.
Mine too as of last night. It is nearly unusable.
I went as far as initializing my PS4 hoping that it would help. No luck sadly.
This pretty much means no TV for me until I can figure this out.
