PS4 with HDHomeRun Connect Playing MPEG2VIDEO

I’m playing files recorded with the HDHomeRun Connect on my PS4. When using the PLEX APP the system always transcodes the file from MPEG2VIDEO to H264 (the Audio is a direct stream).

Now, when I use the Play Station Media Player app to play the file from the PS4 (using Plex DLNA) it uses Direct Play for both the audio and video. This eliminates the buffering and delay seen in the PLEX app.

Is there something that can be changed in the Plex APP to allow the file to play without transcoding?

The video is in a .ts file with 720p MPEG2VIDEO with AC3 5.1 Audio

Thanks in advance for any direction.

Related question–I’m trying to play HDHomeRun Connect recordings via Plex on PS4. My understanding is I should be able to play the original content without transcoding–yet I get the warning, “The server is not powerful enough to convert the video.” I changed settings to play in original format. What is it trying to convert? Do I need the HDHomeRun Extend that can record the file in H.264?

On my version under Server\Live TV and DVR
click the DVR Settings Gear, there was an option to transcode (experimental)

That allows my Windows Plex to DVR stuff to my NAS and my NAS plex play it just fine.
