I would love even a lite version of the proposed topic: a “Live now” button for every section of the PMS that randomly plays a media at a random point (and from that point continues with a playlist of items until you disconnect) without a “tv guide” 
This has the potential to be far better on Plex than Kodi as all the scheduling could be done once (whenever necessary) on the server-side and then just sent out to the clients. PseudoTV on the Nexus Player was pretty bad, slow, laggy.

I would also love this. This is the only feature i miss from XBMC/Kodi.
Resurrecting this topic for others to like. It’s a killer feature that could be plex pass only and generate a truckload of subscriptions…

Would love to see this feature added to Plex. My collection has grown in the last few years, and is sometimes a challenge to decide what to watch. Being lazy and “channel” surfing would be great.
The only thing I would add is to ensure it allows mixing of channels (playlists) of TV Shows and Movies.

Would really like this feature too. I’d probably just use it for movie channels, like an Action Movies channel etc but like others have said, would be great to just flick over to a “channel” and watch whatever happens to be on while doing something else.

+1, already liked. But this would be a great feature… It would be great if this could be developed as just a channel plugin, but Plex doesn’t seem to offer much flexibility with channels to allow that to happen…
Would love for this to happen, but honestly I could easily be satisfied just by creating an official plex add-on for kodi, similar to plexbmc/emby for kodi. We could do whatever we want in kodi with our plex libraries.

I actually came here to request a feature like this. Good thing I searched for it first. I like the structure of your original idea. I wanted something like this:
A station playlist with optional comercial/ station ID. This is really just for fun. I enjoy projects like this.
When you click on the channel, it just randomly puts you somewhere along the video timeline.
This would recreate the old stations before onscreen guides. Yeah it’s backwards but it’s just for fun. How many times have you flipped to a station and Die Hard was on during some point in the middle and you ended up just watching it till the end. THIS is what I would like to re-create.
ok, so I downloaded pseudotv for Kodi and it’s awesome. A plugin for plex would be most welcome.
I doubt Plex would add something like this and that’s fine with me. That being said, I do have PsuedoTV running and love the fact that I can still get my channel surfing experiencing since I no longer have cable. I like being able to skip forward or backward thru the channel guide to play an item not yet playing or one that is already done playing. Being an ex Comcast user, I enjoy using the “Concast” skin.
