Pure irresponsibility of the media, as much as there is gripe about Plex, keep supporting them

Look, I’m no fan of the continuous gripes I have with the features of PLEX, but I find it irritating and annoying that media outlets put Plex and Kodi into piracy categories. It’s just pure absurdity that they would do a “lets be honest”. If I am honest, I JUST WONT PAY FOR SOMETHING I ALREADY OWN. I’m not renting movies, music or any media I already spent money on and cataloged. I purchase good CD’s that were legally purchased at thrift stores, ripped and catalogue them. You just can’t find some of this on Apple or any streaming services. What they ought to do and be responsible for, is when writing these fluff pieces is to educate readers that Plex is a DIY approach of any media you already own. They shouldn’t be inserting a bias. The media outlets need to stop making this matter worse for the ones who won’t support the rent media system that’s been growing. Plex devs, please keep going, but let your PR people know they should start educating these media outlets before they tarnish what Plex was for. There are so many more bullet points to be made on the benefits of Plex, yet they seem to just smear everything as if it was all bad.

Thanks for the report.
Plex is looking into this

The same people who blame or associate Plex with piracy, say the same thing about torrents and zip files.

Omg tools for the Devil!!!

But what they always ignore, is that a tool is just a tool and every tool can be used for good or ill.

Just like a hammer can be used to build a house, it can also be used to knock a hole in someone’s head.

This is all I need to know, to know that the Verge is a piece of crap and completely out of touch with anything in the tech space… (Note, this video is somewhat of a reaction video, Lyle/Kyle “bitwit” is awesome, but the video he’s making fun of is a video made by the verge on how to build a pc… enjoy)
