I find plex a big let down third party addons a big let down film streaming a big let down sports streaming a big let down help and information on how to stream and how to get addons a very big let down you seem to want to take our money but the leva us to get on with without any help not very good is it
You make a lot of valid points there.
While in many ways they are the same, you have to realize though, that Plex and Kodi are very different in some key areas and cannot be placed on the same playing field…
The first and foremost reason is media sharing. Plex fills a wonderful gap for me in that I can share movies and television shows with family and friends in other houses and they are able to stream this media directly from me. Kodi cannot do this.
Once you’ve set up your server, you can watch it on nearly any device or from nearly any web browser. Results may vary, but Kodi requires individual installs, which brings me to my final point…
Watched history and tracking by account. Plex keeps track of where you are in a movie or series so you can pick up where you left off across all of those shared devices and locations mentioned above.
So, Kodi definitely wins in being able to stream things you probably shouldn’t. Plex isn’t designed for that. Once you start playing with Plex the way it was meant to work, you’ll be more satisfied.
my point is everyone streams these day because of the cost of sky and virgin media with kodi they have a massive liebrey of films box sets and sport and easy to find information to find on the internet and you tube not so for plex but if you go on ebay everyone is selling plex passes I don’t want that I want to be able to do it myself so if you can help me with iptv I will be great full thanks joe
You probably won’t have much luck with Plex trying to use it that way.
Plex is good for: Organizing and displaying your own media, and allowing you to share it while on the run or with family and friends. People selling passes on eBay are actually in violation of Plex policy.
Plex is not good for: IPTV streams and providing content in any way that has not been previously purchased or downloaded from other sources.
Kodi is good for: Organizing and displaying your own media as it was designed to. Also, it can be circumvented via plugins (which are largely unavailable on Plex) to play illegal streams of shows and movies.
Summary: It sounds like Plex may not be for you.
having had a few days working with plex I have come to the conclusion that plex needs to reinvent itself and to give what people want and need into days market which is the ability to stream like kodi rook and apple reasons why you don’t need to build your own film liabery as its already out there on kodi and other sites as for photos everyone has them on there mobile phones and takes them with them they also have apks on there devicses so that they can whatch what they want when they want to yes I like plex but it could be so much better plex should not get stuck in the past and move forward and give people what they want
There are streaming services already … like Netflix and AppleMusic
Product like Kodi Plex JRiver are aim at organizing your own media … aka rips of CDs DVDs and Blu-rays … so can easily play them without handling of actual physical media
since Kodi is open source … third party can produce plugin that stream unlicensed media. Plex will get sued heavily for doing that. Just look at what happened to Napster lol
PS. There are no Blu-ray libraries out there for streaming … the quality is not quite the same … that’s why ppl build their own, to have best available quality (full Blu-ray quality, Atmos sound, 16/44 music … just to name few)

You do realize that Kodi doesn’t think very highly of the things you speak of, right? Third party libraries that allow streams that infringe on copyright are highly panned by the Kodi devs (rightly so). Blaming a copy for not wanting to associate themselves with things that are liable to get them into trouble is just ludicrous on the face of it.
As said above, it really sounds like Plex is not for you.
I honestly dont think you’re even aware of what kodi and plex set out to be?
Kodi has been tarnished by people like yourself with a lack of understanding, who want everything for free!

PLEX gives me exactly what i want, I have access to MY MEDIA where ever i want it, be it a full 1080p BluRay rip at over 20Mbps a much better quality than you will see in kodi addons, along with working 4k, I’m not beholden to an IPTV provider running off with my money, or a addon dying due to the devs quitting, or DMCA notices removing the content I’m trying to watch.
You also realise you paid for a plex pass yeah - plex passes dont actually give anyone access to content… Those people selling plex access on EBAY are selling access illegally to their servers, and they will get shut down by plex.
never said that I paid for a plex pass but because the young lad was struggling with plex I suggested that he could get one on ebay I said I would like to do it myself I like most new users are struggling with getting started with plex yes I link things together yes I can put my photos on plex yes I think I can put my music on plex yet I and other new users are struggling with the film side of it and the tv programs side of it you should not be quick to criticise as we all have to start somewere with no or little help coming from plex
You do have a plex pass - you are talking in a plex pass only forum
What other users are struggling? I’ve not seen anyone asking for assistance, only you asking how to get illegal obtained content.
I’ll say one thing: The Kodi client (user interface) has shown marked improvement in usability (the Estuary skin is great), whereas the Plex client got markedly worse with the overhaul last year. I used to think the client was great, and never really bothered with Kodi on devices like my Fire TV where it’s kind of a pain to install. The change pushed me over the edge, I now pretty much use Kodi + PlexKodiConnect except for situations where I need to sync content like mobile devices. But there’s no such thing as a Kodi server and I’m pretty sure most Plex customers are in it for that. Plex server remains generally excellent. I just wish they would unsuck the client.
yeah … Plex UI is not one of the best … curse of programmers that think they know what user want lol

First off, please learn how to use proper punctuation. It is extremely difficult to read what you are writing as there is no punctuation what-so-ever.
And instead of coming here complaining, why don’t you ask a question about what you are struggling with?
If you do that, you might actually get help on the issue(s) you are having.
Finally, I still don’t know if you are failing to realize the difference between Kodi and Plex.
Plex is a server that is meant to host your own content (your ripped DVD/Blu-Rays, music collection, photos, home video). While Plex cannot do anything to stop people from illegally obtaining media, it’s ultimately meant for stuff that you “own.”
So, to put it simply, if you do not supply any media, your Plex server is going to be a very pointless server. Plex does make clients to connect to the server so you can watch your stuff (otherwise, it would be kind of pointless if you couldn’t actually connect to it and watch what’s on your sever).
Kodi is essentially a media player, meant to play the actual media (how it gets the media is a different story). That is going by the blurb in the search results of Google for Kodi.
Anyway, based on what I can gather from your posts, you do not seem to understand what Plex is actually meant for and need to understand that before continuing with your complaining.
P.S. As @teshiburu mentioned, you are posting in a Plex Pass only section, which means you did buy a Plex Pass.

but when plex themselves tell you to go to plex forums to down load these channels isn’t that the kettle is calling the pot

I don’t know where you are looking that Plex tells you to go to the forums to download these channels. They do, however, mention the Plugins on the features page. However, the plugins that you can add via Plex do not allow streaming illegal streams.
If you have a server set up, you just need to go to Channels and you will then see an Install Channels button that will bring you to the page where you can install plugins. Though if you are using Kodi to judge, you will probably not be happy with the selection of official plugins as none of them are going to stream illegal streams as previously mentioned.

Wow, Ever heard of punctuation. Its when you use a . to stop a sentence from running on and on and on and on. or at least slow it down with a comma, break up your long post so we can understand where you are trying to stop and start from
As said in previous post , the two are totally different and they each fit into its own market

Where do Plex say this? Wanna share a link or screenshot?
This is the stance the Kodi team have on illegal addons:
