This is a beaut.
I used to have Dexter and Dexter New Blood listed in one file I called Dexter Complete Collection’ Both series were under the one title. Now Since Dexter Original Sin came out, I found in no way shape or form was I able to add it to the other two. I ended up just making 3 different Dexter t.v. series files. My question is, can I combine all 3 series under one heading under Plex> T.V. Series Dexter? In other words, I would have ont show poster and upom opening, I would see all 3 Dexterss listed, and all episodes under each respective series name?
Not following you 100% but it sounds like you should create a Dexter collection for your series and then all the series you add to that collection will show there.
See this support article about collections (which works for Movies and TV).

Now that’s a good idea, I know how to do collections, I have a lot for movies. Never made one for t.v. Like I said, I hade the otner 2 Dexters in one spot under T.V. series, just couldn’t add the new one. So, I just separeted the three, into three different series.
Plex will definitely be happier if all of your TV series are organized with the same names and episodes as at TheTVDB. The metadata will be a mess if you try to merge them into a megaseries. Collections were made for this.
Yes, Thanks. I did make a collection of the 3 shows. Put a number in front of it. Thats just what I wanted… Just now, I still hafe the 3 shows listed separtly. I’d like to get rid of those, but I’m afraid of deleting the whole mess. Thats a lot of downloading to start all over again. Oh well, close enough.
Refer to the link in my initial post.
Search for the word “hide” on that page and it will explain how to hide items in a collection.
That should accomplish what you want if I understand correctly.
The individual series need to still exist for them to be able to be in a collection.

Ok, I checked the link. If I understand it, I can “hide” the 3 Dexter shows, and be able to still see them in the collection, correct? I will follow the instructions in the link. I really don’t see any sense in having 3separate shows listed, when there’s a collection containing all 3 in 1 spot. Thanks Again for all the help. I will forever be learning PLEX
That’s why it’s an option. Some collections you may want to see all movies alongside the rest, some you may want to collapse into one “Collection-only” display and never show the movies for. In my case, I have a collection of animated shorts (like those ~5 minute shorts at the start of Pixar movies) that have movieDB ids. I do not want them to show up alongside longer movies, like full-length Pixar movies, so I put them into a collection of just Animated Shorts, and select the option to hide the contents of the collection.
Ok, everybody. Thanks for the help. I had a bit of a tme finding the proper settings part, but now I have it the way I wanted, Thanks again, and have a great holiday.
