Me too, just started recently. CPU has been running at 99% with Plex, overheats and shuts down. The process is the Plex transcode service, but I’ve throttled that back in settings and it’s still using all resources.
mine does it when idle nothing being watched ?
Has anyone heard a fix for this? It’s now causing BSOD.
I have the same problem. On my Windows 10 desktop, ProcessExplorer reports PlexHostScript.exe as constantly consuming ~30% CPU. I have video thumbnail generation, chapter thumbnail generation, etc all turned off. There are various reports about this on the wider internet e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/8jp574/plex_server_python_high_cpu_usage/ but no-one seems to have any answers.
