Hello, i updated my NAS QNAP TS-473 for a few week to the newest firmware QTS 5.0.1.2194. after the installation the NVIDIA kernel driver was installing automaticly. But it still keeps installing by 80%… It doesn´t finish and the plex media server on the NAS can´t use the GPU for transcoding.
That’s why I contacted Qnap support.
Unfortunately, the lady there couldn’t help me competently and kept pointing out to install the updates for the “NVIDIA GPU Kernel Driver” and the “NVIDIA GPU DRIVER”. But that didn’t help.
After Qnap released new firmware on 2022-12-01 (Fixed a domain issue for QTS 5.0.0, 5.0.1) and on 2022-12-06 (5.0.1.2234 build 20221201) I installed it with the updates for the “NVIDIA GPU Kernel Driver” (5.0.1.2234 build 20221201). But the installation of the “NVIDIA GPU Kernel Driver” always stops at 80% and consequently the graphics card is not recognized correctly and Plex cannot trancode anything.
My hardware:
QNAP: TS-473 (QTS: 5.0.1.2234 build 20221201)
Graphics Card: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 Low Profile (NVIDIA GPU DRIVER: Vers.5.1.0.0822, NVIDIA GPU Kernel Driver: Vers.5.0.1.2234 build 20221201)
Plex Server:1.29.2.6364
I know this isn’t a QNAP forum, but since QNAP support doesn’t know what to do anymore, I’m turning to you guys…
Thanks for your help!!!
