Poor video streaming performance on Plex after updating QNAP firmware and Plex server software

Server Version#: 1.28.2.6151
Player Version#: 1.52.1.3195-a0c4d5e9

After updating my QNAP TS-677 to firmware QTS 5.0.1.2145 and Plex Server version 1.28.2.6151, when I stream movies, I have to wait every few seconds for the movie to play. The NAS has 32GB of ram and is connected to most devices, including the router through category 5e and 6. The NAS also has an Nvidia GTX 1050 ti. I have never had an issue streaming anything at full quality on any device. Looking back, I should have tested Plex after the Plex software update to isolate potential problems and before updating the QNAP firmware… I learn the hard way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you upgrade the NVIDIA_GPU_DRV too?

If so, that’s the problem.

You must manually remove the driver, reboot the QNAP, reinstall the older userspace and kernel drivers

There is an open ticket with QNAP

Thank you for the quick response and yes, I just installed QNAP’s updated NVIDIA GPU Driver version 5.1.0.0822 a few hours ago. Good to know an open ticket is in. Have a great weekend.
