QNAP QuTS HW Transcoding

I recently got a new QNAP TS-673A. I’m not new to QNAP but I am new to running anything more than a file server on it. I also don’t know much about Plex itself. Here is my system:
TS-673A
QuTS h5.0.0.1892
NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (from 2010)
NVIDIA GPU Driver V5.0.4
NvKernelDriver V5.0.0.1892

I’m not really sure where to start here. I think my first issue is with QNAP itself. My video card shows up in the control panel but it’s missing all information.

Is there a guide anywhere here to verify if the video card is working? I’d like to get the Plex Pass for HW Transcoding but I’d like to make sure it will even work before I go there.

Is the NIVDIA_GPU_DRV package installed?

ssh into the box:

  1. gpuhal_app -l
  2. Column 1 of the card found is the ID
  3. gpuhal_app -s ID
  4. Confirm it sees driver_installed=1 and real_status=2

Yes
gpuhal_app -l:

gpuhal_app -s ID
No output at all

I did edit my original post. I actually have a Quadro 2000. I did not know there was a difference between 2000 and P2000. Will the 2000 even handle a 4k stream? I only need 1.

Ah, I thought I should have literally had ID in the command. Yes here is the output:

Look in /dev/dri.

do you see renderD128 or renderD129 ?

Doesn’t appear to exist:

-sh: cd: /dev/dri: No such file or directory

Settings - Server - Transcoder - SHOW ADVANCED.

Make sure all 3 transcoding boxes are checked.
While there, Settings - Server - General - Show Advanced –
Make certain DEBUG is checked and VERBOSE is unchecked. SAVE if changes for either

Recreate the transcoding failure,
Download the logs ZIP and attach here please

I don’t have the Plex Pass yet so I can’t check that out. Is there a trial or something I can check out?
