  1. PMS native package installed ?
  2. NVIDIA_GPU_DRV package loaded ?
  3. Card in QTS mode (Control Panel → Hardware) ?
  4. Restart PMS if either of those are changed
  1. Im not fully sure what you mean with the native package. I installed the QNAP Server Version. Is there another one that works better?
  2. I installed the drivers that the system recommended me automaticly. Is there something else i should get? image
  3. Yes , it also shows it supports transcoding.
  4. Nothing changed just yet, waiting for further guidance. Also thanks so far.
  1. native = QPKG file, not docker or a VM

  2. It will state QTS versus Container Station / VM

The native installation worked. Thanks

Thought so.

The scripting in the native package looks for all the right conditions (mode + driver) before telling PMS that the card is there.

The containers and virtualization have no knowledge of that unless you play passthrough games.

The thing is, many people will run into these problems as i just used the normal installation on QNAP app store and not the one on the Plex website. So it might be useful to update that somehow.

The one in the app store is a “Native” app.

The problem is: We are trying to get QNAP to update it but they don’t.

We’ve gone so far as to help them with the testing – Nothing happens.

Hi there
same issue - fixed by installing both the “native” plex server, in combination with the Nvidia kernel driver with the same version of QTS that I am running
(TS-873A - Download Center | QNAP) and the nvidia driver as suggested by @Tsukijomi
I have the same video card, just on an AMD version of the x73 NAS

I am not sure in what order I had to install those but I had to reboot the thing 3 times… then it would work with the hardware in “QTS mode”
Also qnap app center host 1.23.4 so I installed manually via plex.tv > 1.24.2.4973

maybe updating the website

would be a good idea? Do you know who can do this / whom to ask?

thanks for posting this. helped me out! =]

Andreas

P.S. apparently QTS 5 is coming / public beta. So probably stuff is going to break
