So hopefully I’m not duplicating a thread, but I haven’t found one for this issue. Can anyone explain why I can’t play blu ray movies at original quality when streaming through the web app on Google Chrome? It used to be just Chrome, but after my PMS update I installed yesterday now none of my devices can stream original quality. These are all local devices. They are NOT on the same subnet as my PMS, but they are at the same site and have >1ms latency when ping’ing the PMS. Before upgrading I could stream full quality at ~23-25mbps. Now PMS doesn’t want to go above 3mbps which is a HUGE strain on the server. I enabled ‘automatically adjust quality’, and that helped slightly. It now caps out at 7.9mbps, so at least I’m streaming 1080p, but on the very low side. I added my local and external subnet to the ‘LAN Networks’ setting hoping that would help, but it didn’t change anything.
Can anyone please help explain how the quality is set, and why it’s beings so sporadic on me? On any SD movie, I can adjust the quality all day long, on any movie I play. I used to be able to do the same on my HD movies, so it doesn’t seem to be the file itself. I used MakeMKV if that makes any difference.
Appreciate any information on this subject, so I can get back to original quality streaming. Thanks!
