Just noticed the ROKU updated and now the OSD looks totally different. Instead of the repeat functions (loop 1, loop all or shuffle) I have to go to the bottom right settings while the video is playing or paused to see the options for repeat…I have no problem with this just making sure this works the same way…If I start an episode, and select repeat all, it will continue to play until I stop it without a time limit stopping it, right? thanks
Yes, that seems to be the way it works now… I prefer the old way but I guess it is what it is…
I personally don’t understand this change. let’s hide the repeat option under multiple clicks instead of having a small but easily accessible button to click. If there’s a vote to put it back, consider this one of them.
Ya I was shocked that it’s not left on the OSD…the ONLY reason I could think for this is to try to make the OSD look cleaner…I would like it back too but as long as they don’t take it away and it functions the same (which it seems to from what I can tell so far)…I can deal with it.
You’re not alone about missing this. Combined with the shuffle button, there are days where it feels like Plex is actively trying to hide the items I use the most.
Another so called “Update” that is actually a step backwards. That’s very common with Plex updates, they lack common sense.
consider this a +1 for reverting the UI to being useful so i don’t have to dig for such a critical function.
I really like the new player. It matches the player in other platforms. In this case I think they did good
It seems almost EVERY update to Plex makes it harder to use. Why take a perfectly good option that was clearly visible and hide it - not under under a menu, but a submenu that you then have to choose… AND make you choose it every time you start plex rather than letting it be a global/persistent option. Absolutely stupid@
One thing I’ve noticed with the change is the playlist works better. One annoying quirk is (this is an example) picture it: You have a playlist with 130 videos. You want the playlist to loop but you don’t want to start on video #1, you want to, say, start on video 59…So if you scroll the video #59 and start that video and hit loop, it will play the remainder of the playlist, but when the playlist is done, instead of going back to the beginning, it will just jump back like 20 videos and start from there again INSTEAD of going back to the beginning…the ONLY way to get it to loop the entire playlist is to hit the main play button on the playlist and then scroll to the video #59, but it would NOT do this. If starting the playlist from the MAIN play button, then you try to navigate to video #59, you couldn’t.
It would only go to like video #21 but it wouldn’t load anymore videos in the playlist…even when starting video #21, the rest of the playlist would not load…Well, NOW IT DOES. This would probably be something that almost NO ONE would use, but I use it all the time and in the past it’s been a total pain, but now it works.
