Question about subtitle agent

Hi,

I hope I have selected the right place for this rather simple question.

When adding new movies and series to my PMS I have configured the agent to collect subtitles from podnapisi and opensubtitles - works like a charm.

My question is, if the collecting doesn't result in any subtitle(s) - will it try again on next library update or how does that work? I mean, I have movies which now has subtitles on podnapisi, but they never show up on my PMS. The subtitles were not present when the movie was added a while ago.

Can someone explain to me how this works - are there any re-scraping option for the subtitle part?

Thanks a lot.

You can refresh the the metadata (which includes subtitles) from the PMS manager webinterface. Just browse to the correct item and refresh.

I wish it was an option to retry x times after x hours if none is found on the first attempt. Our manual option to download subtitles from the player app.

Thanks a lot for the info. I did not know that.

This should also be possible to do from the Android client

I am also very interested in this. As Im using RSS feed to get the TV shows and they dont have subtitles at the time of release.

Well, there is already an option in "scheduled tasks" called "Refresh local metadata every three days". This would only refresh the changes on your drive :/ .

I would also love to have an option to say "refresh metadata agents every 3 days until results found". Maybe we can hope for it in the future.

Another solution would be simply add a refresh option on the client like mentioned. I think this would be simplest to implement and easy solution for everyone.

A third work around I am thinking about right now is to find a 3rd party agent like filebot or something to search for subtitile files periodically and put it near the file. This way the refresh local metadata thing would work. I have not tried this yet as the filebot needs some time to configure (command line, grr). I will give it a try and post it here if interested.
