Question For Synology Server with Windows Files

I have had plex running on a windows 10 machine just fine with shared libraries across a few different nas boxes and local files from the windows 10 machine.

I would like to move my plex server from the windows 10 machine onto my synology nas, and I wanted to know if that would give me issues or problems since a bulk of the actual video files are on the windows 10 machine (and also another nas)

So in other words, if I have plex server running on a synology nas, can I have media loaded into libraries from a windows 10 share and another nas share and local synology files share, would all that play nice? OR does EVERYTHING have to be on the synology in order to work properly.

Sorry if this is a silly question, I just couldnt get a straight answer to my question after searching. I appreciate any information.

Having your media on the Synology plays far better than pulling media from Windows because DSM is a SERVER and not designed to be a client. That’s why the Synology is a NAS (“storage”)
