I have a large selection of movies and am looking for a way to scroll down the section quicker. Ideally jump to letter of the alphabet. I have Rasplex latest version on a Pi 2 with Flirc dongle.
I know I can sort by name etc, but the family are looking for an easy way to scroll down the list. Any ideas please?
Think I’ve come up with a solution - programmed page up and page down to two keys with the Flirc. Seems to help 
You can also use the number keys on your remote, works like the old SMS keys on old phones, 1=a,b,c etc, press the number key as many times as you want to get the letter.

I’ve just tried this on my music & movie libraries & I’m unable to get this to work. I’ve tried using a remote on the RPi2 & also a keyboard on OpenPHT with no success.
Usually your pro-tips work perfectly so I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong here. Also should it not be 2=a,b,c etc?
Could depend on which remote you are using, I use the RemotePi board with a generic RC6 remote, not sure this tip works with keyboards, will have to dig one out.
Yeah, 2=a,b,c, not old enough to remember those phones, he, he, (I wish!).
Will try some more remotes and a keyboard, will have to wait until I complete regression testing on 1.6.2, need to get this out as soon as possible.

Boy, I need to dive back into figuring out custom programming for my remote (Mele F10). It’d be the cats meow if I could sort it all out.
