RAM for transcoding and new Ubuntu installer output

I have been using my RAM as the transcoding space and have seen no problems.

I updated my PMS this morning using the .deb package as normal but noticed a line which confused me…

/var/lib/plexmediaserver/tmp_transcoding

Is this the same as the Transcoder Temporary Directory?!

Paully,

This is the TEMP_DIR variable which gets set in the system startup configuration.
If you’ve moved the transcoder temp in your Preferences.xml file or in the database itself, I will not report that.

I do not evaluate “Preferences.xml” for privacy reasons but if it provides a better reporting by doing so, I will.

perhaps just clarify that

/var/lib/plexmediaserver/tmp_transcoding

is the default transcoder dir (and may be over ridden)
