Plext Transcoding temporary directory

so I followed the instructions of

  1. install imdisk
  2. setup imdisk to use X-GB space
  3. assign that drive letter to plex

all looks good and it created R:\Transcode\Sessions folders but there is nothing in it…
what am I missing?

Currently Plex runs off of a system that has an SSD, but the actual media files come from another storage server…

Plex Media Server version?

  1. Were you transcoding anything at the time?

  2. Play something that transcodes then check the server log files (Settings → Troubleshooting → Download Logs).

Example: Playing a movie with the video transcoding.
Transcoder temporary directory: c:\temp\plex\
The \plex-transcode-xf…\ directory is deleted when I stop playback.
