I live for this, but is there any way to scope it to style or genre or mood?
It’s not exactly what you’re asking, but you can accomplish much the same by creating a smart collection/playlist.
View your music library by album and set the sort to Randomly. Then add filters for the the moods/genres/styles you’d like. You can then save it as a smart collection or smart playlist.
Since the sort is random, it will refresh with different albums occasionally. There are also play count filters so that you can make it so that less frequently played (or less recently) albums are preferred.
Thanks, this solution works for me. I thought the smart collection would be random during the initial setup and be locked in, but every time i open the collection I get a random set of albums. It’s not… continuous… but it works!
No problem, glad it going to work for you! Smart collections are so cool and flexible.
