Random sort issues

Continuing the discussion from Sorting by "Random" NEEDS an option to limit the refresh rate:

Chiming in here… this is still a major issue:

  • Lists re-randomize frequently — sometimes as often as every 1-2 seconds — which is WAY too often. Even once a day would be plenty in most cases. It’s frustrating enough when you lose your place while browsing. Watching items shuffle over and over while looking at the screen is nuts.

  • Sometimes this causes my app to crash, but more often I experience heavy system usage and having to refresh/reload the browser or app.
