I love the way that I can set up pre-roll for all films. It’s nice to be able to throw up a vintage THX or DTS trailer before a film. I even have a vintage trailer from a theater chain from my youth. The bummer about this feature is that I can’t randomize the many trailers that I’d like to use as pre-roll. It would be great to set a folder as a pool of trailers and it can either play them in order or randomly–only one per film, of course.
It would also be fun to get as granular as setting pre-roll for a particular film. Say…running the THX trailer that was made for T2 could be made to run in front of…Terminator 2: Judgement Day (or any of the Terminator films!). Maybe playing the vintage “let’s all go to the lobby” concession pre-roll from the 50’s-60’s to play in front of House of Wax or even Grease–you get my drift.
While we’re at it…how about being able to run vintage commercials before TV shows? Just a thought.
