Randomly sticks to one artist in Android Auto

I have a playlist containing all of my music. Typically each time I go to use it in my car with Android Auto I have to go to Music-Server, Playlists-Server, Music and it begins playing the first song from the first artist, then I have to hit the 3 vertical dots, chose Random, and then hit Next Track to start it randomly playing music (STUPID and RIDICULOUS in itself) But at least up until recently that worked ok, despite being needlessly cumbersome.

Recently, it will now sometimes get stuck playing songs only from the first artist. No matter what buttons I press Repeat, Random, it won’t leave the first artist until I exit out, force close the app, clear the cache and data and start over.

Lol, I could also perform neurosurgery, decode string theory and cure cancer. It would take less time and effort, or, magically, the app could perform reliably as intended
