Raspberry pi B + Rasplex = lagging music? [Solved]

Hey everyone,

at first i want to say sorry for the coming bad english… ^^

I got a problem with my home media center setup. I have a Raspberry pi model B with a installed rasplex, a small home server ( 2,5GHz dual core, 4 gb ram and a 1 tb HDD ) and a 100 Mbits Wifi router.
Got this setup a whole time and it works very well.
Now i installed some nice Bose speaker on my raspberry pi and transfered my music library to my server. Added the music folder to my rasplex library. worked great!

The Problem:
When i want to hear music the music is lagging every 8 - 10 seconds for 1 second but when i watching a full HD movie (.mkv format ) it works fine without any lag.

Someone could tell me what i can do to listen music without any lag?

best regards Erleon

What type of files, M4A, MP3, FLAC, OGG, ALAC, WMA, WMA lossless? More info needed.

There is a known issue with ALAC files at the moment that demonstrate the issue you describe.

Make sure you are using the latest Rasplex release 1.0.1 and latest PMS release.

Thank you for your post.

99,5% of the music is in the MP3 format.
i am using the lastest Rasplex release 1.0.1. When i am home i will check my server for updates. hopefully there are some updates that will solve the problem.

Regards.

MP3 should play without problem, even with WiFi connection.

How are the speakers connected to the RPi?

Regards

The Speakers are connected with a 3.5 jack plug.

This is my opinion. It plays full HD *.mkv but no simple MP§ files? mhh…

Edit:

Seems to work after a Server Update.

Thanks for posting back with the update.
