RPi2 Rasplex 0.7 skips every 10-15 seconds with 24 bit 96 kHz music audio through HDMI

Tried the upgrade from rasplex 0,6 and a fresh 0.7 installed also with and without overclocking. My RPi2 is connected to a DTS, Dolby AC3, Dolby Plus capable receiver. I was able to play hi-res audio on 0.6 with no problem before.

If the files you are trying to play are lossless WMA files it’s a known issue, were are working to get it fixed. FLAC files play with no problems.

It was Apple Lossless 24-96. I tried 24-96 FLAC of the same album and it played flawlessly.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Yeah, same issue with those as with lossless WMA, we know what this issue is, solving it is taking some doing, problem is that we have incorporated a fair bit of Kodi Isengard code and merged it with Frodo code, whereas PHT is still basically Frodo.

Bear with us.

I have the same problem with some MP3 320kbit on RP1 B+

Are you sure, no problem with any MP3 files, only lossless. I have a number of 320 files that play fine.

Regards

Having the same issue with a 320 mp3 as well, skipping constantly. Also getting skipping, though much less, with 182k MP3.

Using Raplex .7.1 on RPi-B, HDMI and Analog audio out. HDMI connected to TV and Analog connected to a speaker bar. Tried setting it to just Analog out and had the same issue with skipping. Even tried unplugging the HDMI cable completely, every 10-20 seconds it still skipped.

No commits since 30. Juli. Still working on it? What about to revert the corresponding changes in this area?

Gerald

Hopefully fixed in next release.

I have exactly the same problem when playing 24 bit 96kHz ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) files - please fix it soon.

I am experiencing the same problem. Mostly playing mp3 music files with bit rates around 200kbps using a playlist to start playing.
Today I found out that the skipping only happens when the screen is shown where you just see the song currently being played, and the upcoming 2 songs in the lower right corner.
As soon as I move away from this screen (e.g. back to the list screen or any other screen) the skipping stops and music plays fine.

Unfortunately, the ‘problem screen’ is automatically displayed after some time of inactivity

I just see i posted this in the wrong thread because I am running a RPi-B and not an RPi2 .I’m sorry for that.

Fixed in next release.

Regards

I just grabbed the 1.0 release, and am still finding that 24/96 ALAC will skip every 15 seconds or so. FLAC 24/96 does playback without issue. Was the fix made specific to WMA Lossless?

Hmmmm.

FLAC and Lossless WMA all playing fine, there is a problem with ALAC, we’ll have to look at that, sorry.

Regards

24 bit 44.1 ALAC plays without skipping on 1.0.0
24 bit 96 ALAC still skips.

Confirm this problem with Alac 24/96. Rpi b+ rasplex 1.0

Same issue with ALAC 24/96 with Rpi B+ and Rasplex 1.0.0
FLAC works fine !

It’s going to be fixed.
