looks pretty nice!

Are we going geek-gasmic?

Still got my B+ in the package, havent got any use of it :(

I have one on the way, will be testing Rasplex on it tomorrow.  Will report back when testing is completed.

Regards

I can't wait to hear how well Rasplex runs on this!

mee too !

Great, Raspi price and a lot more Power- Should run very smooth and HDMI-CEC should also work :)

Ordered two of them at waterott.de some minutes ago

Could this run a server?

edit: System requirements even without transcoding are still higher. Transcoding will not be good.

Just came in to see if anyone is getting one to test on. Good to see somebody is! I want to order one, but I'll wait on the verdict before placing my order :)

Remember you’ll need an updated NOOBS or Raspbian image including an ARMv7 kernel and modules

I've ordered one.. main reason is to see if the hardware is really faster compared to the "old" RPi B 512mb. I'm using that one for XBMC/Kodi but been looking at Rasplex since the start. Now that PleXBMC doenst really support PlexHome (or at least the last time I checked) I want to put the new device in use with RasPlex.

So if testers are necessary count me in :)

Have also ordered one and will be testing as soon as it arrives.  Thing that stopped me with the Pi 1 was the ~20Mbps limit on direct play (with it overclocked).  I imagine this should have no issues streaming higher bitrate Bluray rips.

Going to have a hunt around the office today and see if any of the Pi team have a unit about I can "borrow" :)

I've order one myself. If not for potential navigation speed increases with Rasplex then because the increased RAM and speed will make other projects more interesting ;-)

I imagine that a special build of rasplex will need to be created to work with this newer model?

I'd imagine the guys can just add the needed modules or whatever to the current version rather than having to create a dedicated version. although I could be wrong!

I've also just ordered one, due here tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward for one of your test report, I've got to say it's really tempting ! If someone could also test the audio output, I really hope they have worked on improving its quality ...

Can't wait for the results to be posted. Really interested in this. The menu speed of the standard pi B made the system unusable to me.

Youpi :)
Someone heard something about an upgrade of the jack output ?

My enthusiasm for the Cubox-i has now waned. Can't wait to see how well this works!

EDIT: Okay, after looking at the specs, my enthusiasm still exists, but has been tempered. The GPU is unchanged, and it's still just 10/100 networking. Still, can't wait to see how well Rasplex runs.

EDIT 2: I see that Microsoft has confirmed Windows 10 support, and that it'll be free. That could obviate the need for Rasplex (on this hardware) if the standard PHT installation runs well (if it runs at all, since it's an x86 app). Guess that'll all depend on how resource intensive Windows is, as well as how tuned the drivers are.

The RPi 2 with Windows won’t be able to run any x86 programs. It will probably be for tinkerers only.

The only point of Windows is the application ecosystem, so Windows on the RPi will probably be as useful as a Windows RT tablet (meaning not very).
