RasPlex and JustBoom DAC / DIGI

I would like to use an RPi 3B+ as a media player with a JustBoom DAC or DIGI sound card. Does RasPlex require any configuration to use the sound card and is the improved sound quality worth the additional investment.
I already have RasPlex running on the RPi.
