I'm leaning in this direction also. If this thing works half as well as I think it may, I'll probably build another, and perhaps the cases will be ready by then.
It's a common problem: the open-source stuff is dependent on volunteer labor, and they just can't drop family and paying activities to do something for free. I can't really fault them too much for that: it's also where my priorities are.
Still, a bit better schedule prediction would be nice.

Sorry for the lack of information.
There are 3 factors holding up the case:
- Final design changes for injection molding (not a huge deal, it isn't delaying the kickstarter, but will have to be finished before case goes into production). I am actively working on this and meeting with my designer every week
- Kickstarter video is incomplete. My production guy has been hard to contact lately. Worst comes to worst I will have to finish the video myself
- Kickstarter is limited to US citizens, but is launching in Canada soon. If it launches in Canada very soon, we will use that, otherwise we'll have to get creative.
Is there anything we europeans can do to help getting the kickstarter available to us?

I've donated to - and been ripped off by - Kickstarter projects before and I'm Canadian. Not sure about how listing works though?

I just want to add my "me too" to this topic.
This is indeed THE best case that i've seen so far and I would love to buy a couple of them.
For those of us who donated to the case development fundrasier a few months back… does the offer of a case still stand?
i think the hardest part for me is the fact that the pi is $35 so why would i spend 20 on a case. I just cut holes in the cardboard box and put it in there. The wifi dongle is a micro one so it all squeezes in there.
If you read the specs of the case, you shouldn't say that.
I can understand that paying more than half the price of the pi is a bit annoying to buy "only a case", but it's really better that a simple plastic box in which you cut holes...
There was a joke going around during the cold war that the Russian version of a certain weapon system was infinitely superior to the NATO version. Why? Well, the Russian version, crummy as it was, was fielded. The NATO version was still on the drawing board, and would remain so for some time. You could at least use the Russian version; all you could do about the NATO version was dream about it.
That's the position I find myself in with regard to the cases. The RasPlex case may have great specs, but for most practical purposes, it doesn't exist. I can't lay my lands on one on a predictable date. The crummy cases I find on eBay are superior, because they exist.
Reasonable excuses are understandable, as is the fact that the project depends on volunteer labor. But we have gone through May, June, and now July, and we still don't have a case or a firm date.
It wouldn't matter much at this point if the RasPlex case was $1.98 with free shipping. It doesn't appear to exist.
I'm in for some cases as well, when they ever will be available..!
It seems the kickstarter will kick off on september 1. (Dale announced this via the rasplex facebook page)

So did this Kickstarter ever start?
Dale just announced that the kickstarter will be delyed a bit (the project were rejected). It seems there is a problem with the video. I hope this is fixed very very soon…
