Rasplex forgets settings after restart

Hi,

sometimes, not always, all settings I have made are gone when the Raspberry restarts. When i try to Update from 0.7.1 to 1.0.1 he starts to download something and goes up to 100% but then nothing happes. And when I try to make a Backup from the settings menu it says there is not enough space. What could i do? And how could i backup all the settings i have made?

Thanks in advance.

Main settings file is guisettings.xml, copy that off and copy back when you haves reflashed and complete the initial boot. There is also advancedsettings.xml, but you may not have one. Make sure you also copy any keymaps if you have a modified one.

When you have copied any of the files back you will need to restart. You will also need to change anything in System settings.

There are additional preference settings in 1.0.1 over 0.7.1 that you may have to look at once booted.

Not really recommended but should be OK, after all it only takes 5 minutes to set all of you preferences again.

Thanks, thats the file I was looking for. Any Ideas why the normal Backup and Restore function does not work properly? Even after a reflash i can create a Backup but it wont restore from that backup, still says it would not have enough space. But it lets me create another Backup, so there must be some space left…

Just performed a backup and restore on 1.0.1, works without problems, using 8Gb Class 10 Sandisk Extreme card.

Ok, guess it has something to do with the SD-Card then. Iam using a 500MB card so i can create a small full disk Image. But your first answer was also a great help and is working without problems so thanks again

Glad to help can you mark this topic as answered, thanks.

Sorry, you’ve already done that, thanks.

I have the same problem, my PI goes back to the default setting after every reboot without fail. It’s just a standard Pi2 and a new install on a good SD card. I have other PI’s on the same network running other apps without any problems. Any ideas ?
